On June 9th, 2007 - right when LA's Gay Pride festivities were going on full blast, Tokyo Wrestling held its rambunctious launch party in downtown LA at MJ Higgins art gallery. The party was produced by Packin' Heat Productions.

Highlights included amazing DJ's on both floors, a karaoke contest, a Sew Gay and Xkiller mini-boutique featuring clothing designed by one of our organizers, Vanessa, and - oh yeah - who could forget the hot sweaty dancing going on down in the basement. A sake bar, a 'Dance Dance Revolution' video game battle, and x-rated anime also rounded out the Japanese-themed night promoting the launch of TokyoWrestling.com.

LA may be better known around the world for its Hollywood image, but areas such as Silver Lake and Downtown LA host rich underground and alternative cultures of their own. Queer women hailing from the more punk rock east side of Los Angeles began organizing parties during gay pride last year through Packin'Heat Productions as an alternative to the commercial and expensive West Hollywood festival area option. After witnessing a wild lesbian wrestling show (among other things) at last year's party, the Tokyo Wrestling team decided to ask for Vanessa's help in producing Tokyo Wrestling's own web launch party.
