On the final day of the weekend event, an L Word-themed pool party started at 9 am - showing that the last day was set to be the HOTTEST.

The L Word pool party has been a staple for several years now: two years ago Laurel Holloman (Tina) and screenwriter/actress Guinevere Turner came for the fun, and since last year Ilene Chaiken, Katherine Moennig, and Leisha Hailey have been known to make their own splash.

Elizabeth Ziff, a producer for The L Word soundtrack since season 2, rocked out at the pool party with her band Betty, which also made a season 2 appearance on the program. Kate Pierson from the B-52s hopped on stage to sing 'Barnyard' with Betty - a straight up hit with the swimwear-clad mob.

The closing party for Dinah Shore was held at Club Zelda in the evening. Parisa Parnian, fashion columnist for OurChart and designer for Rigged OUT/fitters - a dyke fashion label seen on Season 3 of The L Word and available at Tokyo Wrestling's online shop, held a private party of her own. During her stay in Palm Springs, Parisa rented out a home where she stayed with several other lesbian artists. Vanessa Craig, an LA fashion designer and producer for last year's Tokyo Wrestling launch event, came to the party with friends. Without a doubt, key figures to the newest generation of American lesbian culture were there, together in one place, for this Sunday private affair.

This concludes the TW lowdown on the scintillating Dinah Shore Weekend. This one weekend event alone suggests that lesbians in America have found both the power - and the empowerment - to focus on enjoying life. The event is also evidence of the verve of the American lesbian scene.
