3. KM's Press Conference (3)
--Shane is an extremely popular and enigmatic character. When you are playing the part, do you concentrate on any certain mannerisms, movements, ways of talking or making eye contact - anything that you believe makes her sexy or better able to seduce other women? (Laughs)
No, I don't know how to answer that. I guess it comes from me, but it's not like I planned it. It just kind of happened the way it happened. This role got created the way it got created. I had no preconceived ideas about her.

--The love scenes in The L Word are really beautifully done, and clearly Shane has quite a lot of love scenes. Were you resistant at all to doing love scenes early on? Also, are there any particularly memorable love scenes - or actresses that you enjoyed getting to work so closely with? (Laughs)
Wow, Ok. There are so many it's hard for me to go through them. They are all very memorable - yet, just so you know, it's not at all sexy or romantic [on set]. It's actually very technical. It's very planned and pre-planned; very fake. If anything, I remember these scenes I had to do with people I don't know very well - the extras that come in. I remember because it's very awkward to get physical and intimate with someone who you just met maybe three minutes earlier, and you don't even know what their real name is. My impression there is that I want to get through the scene as fast as possible honestly. I don't necessarily enjoy them.
--Why did you choose to become an actress?
I couldn't imagine myself in an office job, or a 9 to 5 job. (Laughs)
--Right now in Japan there's something of a trend with straight girls stepping forth and saying, "I'd sleep with a women if it was Shane." If you were to sleep with a woman, would you consider any of the characters on the program?
Not off the top of my head, no. That's a very unusual question - I can't really say.
