3. Japan Premier report (Part 1)
On August 20th, just a few days prior to the film's official public release on August 23rd, the Sex and the City Japan Premier was held in Tokyo's Roppongi Hills Arena. The premier unfolded under the title of, "Patricia Field presents Sex and the City: Love & Pink". Present at the event were stylist Patricia Field, director Michael Patrick King and a lush assortment of Japan's own celebrities drawn to the affair by their passion for the show. In the place of a conventional red carpet was a shocking pink carpet leading the way into the venue, and on a special stage was an original Sex and the City statue of liberty, complete with clutch bag and heart-shaped torch, standing against the background of a NYC nightscape.

Guests attending all arrived in elaborate outfits in line with the "Love and Pink" dress code, and then made their way down the shocking pink runway to the stage, where they spoke about the movie and energized the crowds.
As a nod to the 4 leading women in the Sex and the City story, many celebrity guests came in groups of 4. Also, women recognized for their bold nature - not unlike the fictional Sex and the City characters, were in attendance, such as film commentator LiLiCo, Sarina Suzuki, Rinka, and Noriko Aota.
