3.　Corky from "Bound"

"Bound" (1996), the mainstream film with a cult following, made a stunning impact on the lesbian world the moment it hit the theaters. And Gina Gershon definitely generated her own fair share of sensation. No one could have fit better in the role of Corky, an ex-con who is leering, smooth, and born for life on the wild side. Onscreen Gershon is toned, she's tough, and she brandishes heroic strength and valiance - never to be outdone by any man.

Corky's rugged look is captivating - the leather jacket, the combat boots, the tank top, the tattoos, and the thick, clutter of rings - all elements indicative of the 80s dyke. The dangerous adult affair that Corky and Violet share steadily deepens in a fog of growing suspense... and judging by breathless audiences everywhere, the two earned their claim to being the sexiest couple in lesbian culture. Also, (lest we forget) there is nothing more titillating than their chemistry, their teamwork, and their soul-crushing knack for action as they stick it to the 'man's world' of the Mafia.

This masterful suspense thriller keeps viewers on the edge of their seats right through to the end. Beyond just lesbians, film buffs of all stripes love this flick for its powerful visuals and incredible execution.

Incidentally, "Bound" was directed by the Wachowski brothers, the same team behind the 1999 smash hit "Matrix".
