Uh Huh Her. If you haven't heard already, this indie electro-pop duo is the divine combination of singer/rocker Camila Grey and actress/musician Leisha Hailey, known for her role as Alice Pieszecki on the stylish lesbian drama The L Word. The LA-based band exudes the allure of female rock with every crafted note and lyric. Their first album was just released in the US this past August and is scheduled to hit Japan in January 2009.

The first single, "Not a Love Song", is already gaining an audience in Japan. It's being used for Fox Life broadcasts of Season 4 of The L Word, and has been made available as a cell phone ringtone (ChakuUta) through RecoChoku.

Hello TW readers,

I just saw Uh Huh Her live at the Avalon in Hollywood on November 14th, and I had to fill you in on what the show was like!

First of all, the line stretching from the entrance of the club was LONG - and apparently started to form a full two hours before the show even began. While I was looking for the place, I stumbled upon the band's fans standing in line dappled with rainbow colors. Needless to say, the venue was super easy to spot.

And the club was packed with YOUNG fans - whether they came out in such numbers because this was the very last night of the tour, or because it was an all ages show, I do not know. What I do know though is that there were plenty of boys rocking out as well, roundly disproving what I'd heard about a overwhelmingly female audiences at Uh Huh Her's shows.

The two 15 year old (!) boys next to me seemed to be huge Camila fans - judging from the fact that they spent the whole show gazing exclusively in her direction. Clearly, both halves of this duo run neck and neck when it comes to all-out sex appeal. (Incidentally, one of these boys later had to be held back by security when he tried to jump the stage barricade to grab a guitar pick Camila tossed aside. That's an impassioned fan!)

After the opening band finished, and the crystal mood of anticipation was set - the venue turned uproarious as the stage curtain lifted and the very glamorously-styled Grey and Hailey made their way onstage. As camera flashes went off and cheers erupted from the audience, paparazzi-like cameramen were also busily getting their work in - all which gave me a bit of a glimpse into what band popularity looks like for this LA duo.

Camila, the lead vocalist, is not yet as widely known perhaps, but she was absolutely striking - more so than in pictures. She's a handsome hottie with an intensely cool look and a slightly mysterious air.

Hailey is exactly as charming as she appears on The L Word. She kidded around with the audience between songs and had everyone laughing.

The two played perfectly together and the venue was rolling with energy throughout the whole set - from ballads to hard-rocking tunes, to everything in between.

At the club staff from AfterEllen.com and Hollywood stars such as Sarah Michelle Geller and the indubitably hot lesbian actress (rumored to be Grey's girlfriend) Clea Duvall from that campy movie "But I'm a Cheerleader".

Cute beyond words, Hailey left after the show in a Mini-Cooper, just like what Alice drives in The L Word!
