"Milk" has just hit the theaters in the US. After hearing about the excitement that the film has sparked, some of us at Tokyo Wrestling began to wonder: Has Hollywood interest in LGBT themes and characters been growing in recent years? Year after year the world has been stirred by the flurry of Academy Award tendered to such films as "Boys Don't Cry", "The Hours", and "Brokeback Mountain". Newly inspired, a growing number of A-list actors seem to be looking to take on gay roles, despite the assumed industry risk of rumors or typecasting. Now that social climates are changing, perhaps actors of today see LGBT themes and roles as the newest avenues for demonstrating true thespian ability.
