5. Proud in lesbian roles - Piper Perabo
Did you know that many actresses who have appeared in a lesbian/bisexual role once actually return to take on other woman-loving roles in film and TV again? Here's a little background on four such actresses.

Perabo was born in the United States in 1977. Shortly after her start in acting, she was thrust into the spotlight after her performance in the lead role of Jerry Bruckheimer's "Coyote Ugly" (2000). Later, she appeared in the film based on a true story "Lost and Delirious" (2001). Set in an all-girls boarding school, the films tells the intense story of two teenage girls in love and the effects of a fear that their relationship will be discovered.
In the 2005 film "Imagine Me & You", Perabo plays a young bride who grapples with her own feelings and doubts after falling in love with the very female florist at her own wedding.
Perabo also appeared in the films "Because I Said So" and "The Prestige".
When asked about playing a lesbian in two film roles during an interview at the time of Imagine Me & You's release, Perabo responded:
I chose the character because she was so compelling. It only just so happened that she was a lesbian. When I choose a role, I don't care who the character sleeps with or loves. Some people were against me playing a lesbian twice, but I told the director "I'll do it!"
Actress Piper Perabo has proven through her own success that being a part of the A-list in Hollywood and being comfortable in lesbian roles need not contradict each other. Her ability to perform beautifully, and without prejudice, in queer roles is also evidence of her truly transcendental acting ability.
