Time to explore some of the night life in West Hollywood, where the girls in The L Word love to go out. Unfortunately, everyone's favorite hangout - The Planet - only exists on TV, but there are countless real queer nightclubs and bars running the length of Santa Monica Blvd. I visited the following two neighboring establishments:

Here sits at the intersection between Santa Monica Blvd and Robertson Blvd. Every Thursday is ladies' night so, needless to say, I made sure to drop by on a Thursday to check it out. During the early evening hours, the lounge had a very relaxed atmosphere. I spotted two gorgeous African American women relaxing and getting cozy at a nearby table, and when I went to the bar to get a beer, a girl behind me softly asked, "I like your perfume, what are you wearing?" More women showed up as dusk turned to night and at one point I started wondering whether all of these cute, young women were really over 21 years old.

Two of my favorite things about Here were the casual dress code and the lively vibe. Girls waiting outside to get their IDs checked chatted over the fence with girls who had already gotten in. I met an eccentric, handsome girl from Northern Europe who told me she was a DJ and demonstrated how to put out a lighter with her fingertips. The club was packed with women of all races, styles, and backgrounds -- it truly felt like I had stumbled into The L Word. This place is a must for any fan of the series!
