2. Rocking the crowd
※Queen of electro-pop Lady Gaga has won over a large queer following with her off-beat and powerful sense of style. She made her way onto stage with her hit song “Love Game", drawing cheers from the crowd. Her performance was the most talked about event among Dinah dykes over the weekend.
※Lady Gaga, in signature over-the-top costume, gave a soulful acoustic performance of her smash hit “Poker Face”. Less than a minute into the piano rendition, Lady Gaga smiled and stopped playing to ask the audience, “You know what this song is really about?” After a dramatic pause she confided that “I used to date this guy and while we were having sex, I used to think about women.” The crowd erupted as Ms. Gaga added a cheeky and impromptu “No, no, he can't read my 'poker face'!”
※Lady Gaga's queer-inspired style and driven performance heat up the venue.
※Lady Gaga was by far the biggest draw this year at The Dinah. There’s no doubt that this lesbian-friendly superstar will be keeping her throne as a dyke icon.
※Grammy nominee Katy Perry (center), the songstress behind the “I Kissed a Girl” sensation, took time off of her world tour to appear at The Dinah. Here she poses for a photo with The Dinah’s producer and organizer Mariah Hanson (left) and Hanson’s partner Katie Valenti.
※Cheers rose as she hit the stage with “I Kissed a Girl”. Singing the famous cherry chapstick line, she pulled out a stick of chapstick and...
