4月18日（土）に渋谷シネマライズにて、映画『ミルク』の公開記念としてガス・ヴァン・サント　ナイトが開催。ゲイとしてカミングアウトしている鬼才監督である彼の、これまでの作品、『エレファント』、『パラノイドパーク』、と最新作の『ミルク』を上映予定。

最新作『ミルク』では第81回アカデミー賞主演男優賞、脚本賞の2部門を受賞！米国で初めてゲイとして公表し、政治家となったハーヴェイ・ミルクの人生最後の8年間が描かれている。

前作『パラノイドパーク』、第56回カンヌ国際映画祭最高賞、監督賞受賞作品『エレファント』。いずれも、ある人物や出来事を、着実に描こうとしたガス・ヴァン・サント監督。彼の実力と感性を一夜にして味わうことができるチャンスをお見逃しなく！

On Saturday, April 18th, Shibuya’s Cinema Rise will be holding an all-night Gus Van Sant film event to commemorate the release of “Milk”! The theater plans to show “Elephant”, “Paranoid Park” and “Milk” by the publicly out, famed American director.

Just this past February, Van Sant’s latest release, “Milk” won two Oscar awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 81st Annual Academy Awards. The film captures the final 8 years in the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay candidate elected to public office.

His earlier films, “Paranoid Park” and “Elephant” (winner of the 56th Annual Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d'Or and Best Director award), are also highly purposeful, true-to-life depictions of people and events in our time. This excellent opportunity to spend the night getting closer to the work and sensibility of Gus Van Sant is not to be missed!
