フィッシャースプーナーのユニット名は、彼らのラストネイムをくっつけたもの。シングル「Emerge」とデビュー・アルバム『#1』で“エレクトロクラッシュ”ブームを巻き起こし、セカンド・アルバム『Odyssey』では、時代に流されることのないエレクトロ・ポップ・ユニットとして話題に。

Fischerspooner, the NY-based musical performance troupe started by musician Warren Fischer and openly gay artist Casey Spooner, will be releasing their latest album, Entertainment, on May 2nd -- four years after their sophomore release.

Fischerspooner's name is an amalgam of its founders' surnames. The troupe first fueled the Electroclash movement with their single "Emerge", released on their debut album #1, while their second album, Odyssey, marked a decided move into the electro-pop arena.

As one would expect from progenitors of the current electro boom, the troupe's third album is reminiscent of Kraftwerk, early Depeche Mode, and New Order, while also firmly delivering catchy dance tunes befitting the cutting edge electro sounds of the Kitsuné and Modular labels. This album is sure to bring together all listeners of electro music -- both fans of the old and the new.

Fischerspooner's allure lies in the artistry and queer sensibility that pervades their videos. While the unfailing quality of the music they produce is impressive, the queer-spirited and deeply artistic costumes and performances that dominate their music videos and live performances are not to be missed.
