On May 1 2009, Sweden adopted a new gender-neutral marriage law embracing the marriages between same-sex couples. To highlight this new legislation towards openness and equality, the Embassy of Sweden in Tokyo will host a seminar on July 20 with speakers from Sweden, Japan, the Netherlands and the United States.
