ミディアムショートフィルム『恋人はバンパイア』上映！ "Some Real Fangs" comes to Tokyo!

レズビアンとしてカミングアウトしているデズリ・リム監督が、2005年に監督/脚本/製作を手掛けたTVムービー『愛のカタチ』（「Floored by love」）。2006年の東京国際レズビアン＆ゲイ映画祭でも上映され注目を集めた。

そんなデズリ・リム監督が2005年に監督/脚本/製作を手掛けたレズビアン・バンパイア・ダンス・コメディ『恋人はバンパイア』（「Some Real Fangs」）が、8月29（土）から9月25（金）に開催されるムービーフェスティバル“真夏の夜の万華鏡”で上映が決定。この“真夏の夜の万華鏡”では、山形国際ムービーフェスティバル・スカラシップ作品を特集し、国内外の短編映画の中から、選りすぐりの19本の短編作品と6本の長編作品がピックアップされた。

日本人監督の作品が大半を占めるなか、一際異彩を放っているこの『恋人はバンパイア』には、スタイリッシュ・レズビアンドラマ『Ｌの世界』のシーズン2（’05）でケリー・リンチ演じるトランスジェンダーのキャラクター、アイヴァン・アイコックの同僚を好演したルヴィア・ピーターセン（Luvia Petersen）が出演。その『Ｌの世界』では、出演の少ない脇役ながら際立ったダイクオーラでクールな印象を残した彼女だが、本作ではバンパイアの衣装をまといユーモアと茶目っ気たっぷりのダンスも披露するなど新たな魅力を見せている。

スクリーンでなかなか観る機会の少ないショートフィルム『恋人はバンパイア』を、是非劇場でチェックしてみては！

【STORY】
もうすぐ二十歳を迎えるタラは800年続くバンパイアの最後の後継者。 一人前のバンパイアになるためには、特別な月夜に運命の恋人とキスをしなければならないのであったが・・・。

Out director Desiree Lim wowed audiences at the 2006 Tokyo International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival with "Floored by Love" (2005), a comedy that she wrote, directed, and co-produced for Canada's CHUM Television.

Later this month, fans in Tokyo will have a chance to catch Lim's 2005 lesbian vampire comedy “Some Real Fangs” at A Midsummer Night’s Kaleidoscope (Manatsu no Yoru no Mangekyo), a month-long film event featuring nineteen short films and six full-length films selected from films made by Japanese and international recipients of the Yamagata International Movie Festival Scholarship. The event starts on Friday, August 25th and lasts through Saturday, September 26th; "Some Real Fangs" will be showing on Tuesday, September 8th at 9:00pm.

While Japanese filmmakers make up roughly half of the selections at A Midsummer Night’s Kaleidoscope, “Some Real Fangs” stands apart from the rest, not only for its international flavor but also for its playful humor and wit. The cast includes Luvia Peterson, who appeared in Season 2 of The L Word as dashing mechanic Dax, a friend of Ivan (Kelly Lynch). In Lim’s film, Peterson gives sexy a whole new face as she dons fangs and a cape for a spectacular performance in this anything-but-ordinary romantic musical!
