アメリカ/ボストン生まれでパリ育ちのクィアとしてカミングアウトしているシンガー・ソングライター、クリス・ガノ。米大ヒットドラマ『グレイズ・アナトミー』シーズン4のサウンドトラックに彼の楽曲が2曲選ばれ、注目を集めた。そして今回、「特別な歌声」を持つとまで称賛されている彼が、約2年半ぶりとなるセカンド・アルバムをリリース。

本作ではトレードマークであるメランコリックなピアノ曲だけでなく、軽やかなフォーク・ソング、アメリカーナや祝祭音楽などの要素も取り入れた楽曲にも挑戦。より多くの楽器を用いた結果、アレンジ面や表現力も数段スケールアップしている。

またクリスは、先日の来日ライブで好評を博したスコット・マシューと友人だったり、日本のエッジィなエレクトロシーンを牽引するパーティ「fancyHIM」でライブを披露したガールズデュオAvenue Dとも交流があったりと、才能豊かなミュージシャンたちと幅広く交流関係を築いている。そんな彼のサウンドを是非チェックしてみて！

Meet out singer-songwriter Chris Garneau--born in Boston and raised in Paris. The highly acclaimed artist first attracted attention when two songs from his debut album were selected for the Season 4 soundtrack of the hit American drama Grey’s Anatomy. Now, the man hailed for his unique voice and idiosyncratic singing style has just released his second album after a two and a half year hiatus.

Garneau’s sophomore album El Radio ventures beyond his signature melancholic, piano-led tunes to include the distinctive sounds of airy folk, Americana, and orchestral arrangements. By incorporating a greater number of instruments into his compositions, Garneau has lifted the expressive power of his music to a whole new level.

Also, it is worth noting that Garneau keeps good company with a diverse mix of today’s most talented musicians, such as his friend Scott Matthew, who only just recently performed in Japan, and Avenue D, the NYC girl duo known for rockin’ Tokyo’s own edgy, electro party fancyHIM in April 2006.
