今、最も勢いのあるフォトグラファーでゲイとしてカミングアウトしている、レスリー・キー。そんな彼のチャリティー写真集「SUPER TOKYO」の発売を記念して、4月23日(金)から表参道ヒルズにて『LESLIE KEE「SUPER TOKYO」写真展』が開催。 本展では、“愛と平和と世代”をテーマに、東京で活躍する俳優、ミュージシャン、モデル、スポーツ選手や映画監督など1000人を撮り下ろした写真に、今年で35周年を迎える人気キャラクター・ハローキティーのグラフィックをコラージュした作品が約700枚展示。なかでも、TW一押しのスタイリスト・DJのぺりちゃんやモデルのLEO君なども被写体に。お見逃しなく！

1971年、シンガポール生まれ。1997年、東京ビジュアルアーツ写真学科卒業。1998年日本で写真家としてデビューして以来、ファッション広告やCDジャケットなどを中心に、日本のみならずアジア、ニューヨークで活動している、現在世界的に注目を集めているフォトグラファー。2006年には、スマトラ沖大地震の津波被害者へのチャリティーを目的として、アジア各国の有名人300人を撮り下ろした写真集「SUPER STARS」を発売し大きな話題を呼んだ。

現在、アーティスト・ YUCA の作品と、言語学を専門とする遠藤織枝の研究が相交わる展覧会『女書：アート×学術の連歌』が開催。 中国湖南省江永県で女性たちの間だけで数百年に渡り伝承されてきた文字、女書（ニューシュ）。女書は、教育を受けることも意思を表明することも許されなかった厳しい封建社会の性差別のなかで、女性たちが独自で創り出し、自らの感情を綴り、女性間のみのコミュニケーションの手段として共有した。その起源や全体像は謎に包まれたまま、2004年に最後の伝承者がこの世を去り、女書文化は事実上消滅してしまった。 時代の流れとともにひとつの文化が消滅するとき、人々はそこから何を読み取り、働きかけ、未来へ引き継ぐことができるのかをアートと学術が手を繋ぎ提示したこの展覧会。是非、足を運んでみては！ 展覧会『女書：アート×学術の連歌』 ●遠藤織枝（研究者）× YUCA（アーティスト） ★イベントの詳細はこちら↓ ★ゲストのプロフィールは、MOREを参照↓
Currently showing, "NÜSHU: Art x Academia Crossover" exhibits a unique collaboration between installation artist YUCA and sociolinguist Orie Endo. Nüshu is a special form of writing that was used exclusively by women in Jiangyong County, Hunan Province of China. Under feudalism, women were forbidden education and free expression, but developed the Nüshu script in order to communicate with each other. While its origin and historical background remains unknown, the script virtually became extinct when the last Nüshu generation passed away in 2004. In this exhibition, art and academia entwines to present us what we may learn, what we can interpret and succeed to the future from a vanishing culture. 1920年代～30年代にかけてヨーロッパを席巻したアール・デコの時代を代表する画家タマラ・ド・レンピッカ （1898～1980年）。レンピッカは、ワルシャワの良家に生まれ、ロシアとスイスで思春期を過ごし、18歳で若い弁護士と結婚。しかし、翌年のロシア革命を機にパリへ亡命、時代に翻弄されながらも女性の自由な生き方を実践し、狂気の時代とも呼ばれた1920年代のパリで独特の作風により、画家として一躍注目された。
私生活では女性とも数々の浮名を流し、その自由奔放な振る舞いでも有名に。円熟期にあった1930年に描いた《イーラ・Ｐの肖像》のモデルは彼女の初めての女性の恋人とも言われている。また、アンドロジナスなルックスで、低い声でレズビアンの恋を歌い上げた人気歌手シュジー・ソリドールをモデルに1933年に描いた《シュジー・ソリドールの肖像》は、ソリドールからの依頼で、レンピッカはヌードで描くという条件で承諾したという。
前述のイーラとはイタリアに旅行に行き、そこで数々のレズビアンパーティに参加したと言われている。なかでも、英詩人・作家のヴィタ・サックヴィル＝ウェストやその恋人のヴァイオレット・ケッペル＝トレフューシス、仏作家でレズビアン/バイセクシュアルと言われているコレット等のサークルにも通っていた。 レンピッカの作品は、70年代にアール・デコの再燃とともに再評価され、また、女性のヌードをレンピッカ特有の官能さとオリジナリティ溢れる描き方から、多くのレズビアンやバイセクシュアル女性のファンを獲得し続けている。 当時にしてモダンな女性の人生を歩んだレンピッカの個性豊かな作品を、時代背景とともに辿る『美しき挑発 レンピッカ展』に是非、足を運んでみては！ ●『美しき挑発 レンピッカ展』 ○入館料（税込） 文／近藤日咲子・カイザー雪
Tamara de Lempicka Seduction of Elegance Tamara de Lempicka (1898-1980) is one of the most outstanding painters of Art Deco, an art movement which dominated Europe during 1920s and 1930s. Lempicka was born to a wealthy family in Warsaw and spent her teenage years in Russia and Switzerland. She married a young lawyer at the age of 18, and escaped to Paris when the Russian Revolution broke out. Nonetheless, she led a free-spirited life and her distinctive artistic style put her in the limelight during the Roaring 20s in Paris. Her affairs with women became famous, too. The model of Portrait of Ira P (1930), who she painted in her most prosperous years, is said to be her first female lover. Lempicka also painted Suzy Solidor, a popular singer who sang lesbian love songs. Suzy asked Lempicka to paint her, but she would only do so if she could paint Solidor in the nude. Solidor agreed and Portrait of Suzy Solidor was finished in 1933. Together with Ira, Lempicka traveled to Italy and became closely associated with lesbian women in writing and artistic circles. Members included lesbian and bisexual French writer Colette, English writer and poet Vita Sackville-West and her lover Violet Trefusis. In the 70s, Art Deco came back in style and Lempicka's work was rediscovered by the new generation. The unique sensuality of her nude portraits and her overpowering style continues to attract lesbian and bisexual female admirers.

Two years after his last solo exhibition in Tokyo, openly gay Dutch artist J.P. Hol, currently based in Milan and Amsterdam, will be making a return to Japan to premiere his latest work. Hol’s upcoming show will open at venues in Tokyo and Osaka, where audiences can catch his new stop-animation film, “Gay Squirrel and the Tail/Tale of the Cat on the Moon”. The film takes place in a closet and follows one squirrel on an adventure through a kitschy and nostalgically crafted universe. This is said to be Hol’s first artistic exploration into his own sexuality. Hol’s view that, “Being gay is something we are born as--and it makes us who we are,” is deftly reflected in this fantastic creation of a romantic, quirky, and clearly queer world. Don't miss it! Tokyo Wrestlingの大人気企画「TOKYO L GIRLS & BOIS SNAP」でお馴染みのフォトグラファー、戸崎美和さんが写真展を開催！ 今回の展示では、曖昧な性のボーダーライン上に存在する者たちの美しさにスポットを当てているという最新の作品に加え、スライドショーでここ10年間の戸崎さんの活動を一挙に眺望できる内容となる予定。 10月10日（土）に10数年前のクィアカップル撮影から始まったモノクロ写真時代から現在まで見つめ続けてきたことを振り返り、膨大な写真を一晩限りのスライドショーとして見せる。 また、それらの作品を音楽にのせるのは、昨年TWが参加した、ArcH にて行なわれた夏のホット・クィアイベント、 「LA・TOKYO feel “L Culture”」でもDJを務めていたDJ Kiyo。同イベントで行ったスライドショーでは、350人以上の来場者でフロアが賑わったが、今回はクラブスペースではない落ち着いたギャラリー空間にて展開し、アットホームな雰囲気を演出。展示とあわせてスペシャルなワンナイトショーにも、是非足を運んでみて！ ●10／03（土）～10／11（日） 14：00～19：00 ●戸崎美和 www.sista-dinah.com/ Photographer Miwa Tosaki, known to most TW readers for her work on Tokyo L Girls (& Bois) Snapshots, will be holding an exhibition in October!! Tosaki's latest exhibition will present a look at the past decade of her work. Also, on Saturday, October 10, Tosaki will be showing a special retrospective slide show independent of her exhibition for the one night only. The slide show will present Tosaki's earlier and more recent photographs, dating back as far as ten years ago when she started out taking black & white portraits of queer couples. Music for the slides will be spun by DJ Kiyo, who rocked the August 2008 ArCH party event for "LA & Tokyo feel L Culture", where Tokyo Wrestling also contributed to the lineup. Tosaki's slide show at the ArCH event ultimately brought around 350 women to the dance floor but, fear not, the coming exhibition will take place at her own gallery space guaranteeing a more relaxed atmosphere. スタンリー・キューブリックの「A.I」のコンセプトにインスパイアされた村上隆が、自らの想像、答えとして、人工知能をあわせもつ人間の子どもと等身 大の立体作品を作りあげた。 この立体作品とともに、元来の美術館やギャラリー展示の際、あたらしい表現、見せ方として、日本における先鋭広告クリエイター集団シンガタと細野ひで晃によるCM形式の映像作品、写真家の瀧本幹也によるポスター、写真家戸崎美和（今回のプロジェクトでは、トサキミワ記載参加）による、「inochi」をもうひとつのリアルとして捉え直した写真作品、で発表される。 最近の戸崎美和は、村上隆氏もゼネラルプロデューサーとして参加、映画監督Mr.の「誰も死なない」の作品にも写真参加している。 ★ファッション誌『ELLE』（09年5月号・P81）にも掲載中。是非チェックを！ ★戸崎美和の写真展「Blood on the dancefloor」はこちら。 Photographer Miwa Tosaki, known to most TW readers for her work on Tokyo L Girls Snapshots, will be shown in the Project Inochi exhibition at Kaikai Kiki Gallery! ●April 3-16 (closed Sun & Mon) Kaikai Kiki Gallery is hosting the Japanese premier exhibition of the life-size sculpture “inochi” by famed artist Takashi Murakami, who was inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s film “A.I.” to craft the robot child based in his own future world vision. The exhibition also includes Project Inochi, a series of artworks from other mediums designed to elaborate on the universe surrounding the title character; it includes film by creative advertising talents (Group) Shingata and Hideaki Hosono, posters by photographer Mikiya Takimoto, and work by Miwa Tosaki. クリス・ヴァン・アッシュによるディオール オムの2009年春夏コレクションをナン・ゴールディンが07年にパリで撮影。ランウェイやバックステージにて、南米出身のモデルの男の子たちの生の動きを彼女ならではの視点でリアルにキャッチした写真が展示されている。その写真の一部は、現在発売中のメンズモード誌『VOGUE HOMMES JAPAN』の創刊号にも10ページに渡って掲載されている。 Nan Goldin's pioneering style of photography has become known around the world for its fresh eye on themes of gender, love, and sexuality. Right now, through October 13th, you can catch Goldin's "Wild Horses" exhibition at the Dior Omotesando in Tokyo. In 2007, Nan Goldin photographed the Dior Homme 2009 Spring Collection by Kris Van Assche in Paris. The "Wild Horses" exhibition captures - as only Goldin could - the South American models for the collection, along with the raw exhilaration of the runway and the intensity of time backstage. Some of the photographs have been printed on page 10 of the first issue of the new men's fashion magazine, "Vogue Hommes Japan", on sale now.
