第13回レインボーマーチ札幌！ The 13th Annual Rainbow March Sapporo

今年の9月21日に第13回レインボーマーチ札幌が開催！

札幌市中心部にある大通り・すすきのなどを約1時間半に渡ってパレードする「レインボーマーチ札幌」。 参加者は思い思いの衣装や服装で、装飾したトラックやオープンカーとともに歩く。主張を書いたプラカードを掲げたりするなど、パフォーマンスも自由に行なわれ、駅前通付近では恒例の風船飛ばしが毎年LGBTたちを歓喜させている。

昨年は960名の参加者が集い、今年は約1000名のパレードになることが予想される。9月の連休真っ只中に行なわれるこのイベントに、行ける人は是非参加してみては！

The 13th Annual Rainbow March Sapporo will be held this year on September 21st!!

Every year, the Rainbow March Sapporo begins at the 6 Chome Square in Odori Park and proceeds through Odori, Susukino and the downtown area for an hour and a half. Participants dress in any way they like and march alongside decorated cars and trucks while carrying messages for the crowds. In addition to performances, festivities include the ever-popular release of balloons by Sapporo station, which will be closing the event again this year.

Over 960 people came to the march last year and over 1000 are expected for 2009. Since the event falls on a long holiday, there's almost no excuse to not to head out and check it out!

シンガポール映画祭開催！ The Sintok Singapore Film Festival in Tokyo

明日9月5日（土）より、日本では初の試みであるSintok シンガポール映画祭が開催！
（※Sintok：Singaporeの「Sin」とTokyoの「tok」をあわせた愛称）

ここ数年盛り上がりを見せているシンガポール映画界は、まだ若く小さいながらも、近年世界的に注目度が高くなっているのは確か。そんななか開催となった本映画祭は、シンガポール映画の背景や新たなシンガポールの発見をする場を設けたいという理由から発足。世界や日本の映画祭上映で好評を得た作品、新旧の長編、ドキュメンタリー、注目の若手監督の短編など全9プログラムを上映！

また今回は、LGBT活動にも積極的でゲイとしてカミングアウトしているブー・ジュンフェン監督の2008、2009年東京国際レズビアン&ゲイ映画祭でも上映された作品3本を含む短編集の上映もあり、監督自身も9月5日（土）に行なわれるオープニングイベントでトークセッションをする予定。この貴重な機会をお見逃しなく！！

Singaporean films have been making an ever greater splash on the international scene in recent years. Now Japan’s first ever Singaporean film festival, The Sintok Singapore Film Festival in Tokyo, brings the energy of a new generation of Singaporean filmmakers to Japanese audiences starting Saturday, September 5th! Come see Sintok's diverse line up of films: from internationally-acclaimed masterpieces to documentaries and shorts by up-and-coming artists. Nine sessions showcasing the work of eight different directors will run over the course of this generous eight-day event!

And be sure not to miss the Boo Junfeng Shorts Collection--a program of select short films by award-winning director Boo Junfeng. If you missed “Katong Fugue” and “Tanjong Rhu” at the 2008 and 2009 Tokyo International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival , then this is your chance to catch these and other delicate-yet-powerful works by an incredible rising, young talent!!

『ヴァギナ・モノローグス　byイヴ・エンスラー』 The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler

ヴァギナ・モノローグス（原題：The Vagina Monologues）は、アメリカ人劇作家のイヴ・エンスラーの脚本によって構成されたモノローグ芝居。

200人を超える様々な年齢・人種・職種の女性たちにインタビューしたヴァギナ（女性器）についての記憶や思いを基にした作品で、1996年にニューヨークのオフ・ブロードウェイで上演されて以来、世界60ヶ国で上演されている。ユーモアと哀愁を交えて語られるセックス、出産、オーガズムなどおかしくも切ないエピソードの数々が感動を巻き起こす。

ウッディ・アレン監督の映画『マンハッタン』（’79）でレズビアン役を好演した大物女優のメリル・ストリープやLBGT人権活動家としても知られるウーピー・ゴールドバーグを筆頭に、2008年には、スタイリッシュ・レズビアンドラマ『Lの世界』でベット・ポーター役のジェニファー・ビールスも舞台を飾った。

今回の公演では、元祖オネエキャラと歯に衣着せぬ物言いでファッションジャーナリストとして活躍するピーコ氏のゲストトークショーなども必見。是非この機会をお見逃しなく！

The Vagina Monologues is a series of unforgettable stories skilfully scripted by American playwright Eve Ensler.

Based upon interviews Ensler conducted with over 200 women of varying ages and backgrounds, The Vagina Monologues gives voice to women’s reflections on their bodies. This moving collection of tales tinged with sorrow and humor about sex, childbirth, orgasm, and more began as an off-Broadway production in 1996 and has since been performed for audiences in over 60 countries.

Actresses who have taken the stage to perform in The Vagina Monologues include Meryl Streep, who appeared in the 1979 Woody Allen film “Manhattan” in a lesbian role; Whoopie Goldberg, recognized widely for her LGBT activism; and Jennifer Beals, known for her role as Bette Porter in the stylish lesbian drama The L Word.

The Tokyo run will feature special guest appearances by figures such as the outspoken fashion journalist Piko. The play will be performed in Japanese. Don't miss it!

アウトゲームス09 in コペンハーゲン！ 2009 World Outgames in Copenhagen!

世界中のLGBTのアスリートたちが10日間に渡って競い合う、4年に1度のLGBTのオリンピック＆文化祭ともいえるビッグイベント、アウトゲームス。毎回違う都市で開催され、今年2009年は、デンマークの首都コペンハーゲンで開催予定。

その期間の前後には、アート展覧会やカンファレンス、ワークショップ、セミナーなど様々なカルチャーイベントも催され、2万人ほどの動員が予想されている。コペンハーゲンの街全体がクィア色に染まる！　ヨーロッパ旅行がてらにこの一大クィアイベントに行ってみては！

LGBT athletes from around the world come together once every four years to compete in the World Outgames, a tremendous international LGBT sporting and cultural event held over the course of 10 days. Each Outgames is hosted in a different city and this year Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen, is ready to take the honor.

A variety of cultural events, including conferences, workshops, art exhibitions, and seminars, will be held prior to and during the span of the gathering expected to attract over 20,000 people. All of Copenhagen will be bedecked in queer hues. What better time is there to visit Europe!?
